How To Get Coffee Stains Out Of Mugs?

Coffee Mug With Stains

Are you tired of those pesky brown rings inside your ceramic mugs?

After you’re done drinking your delicious coffee and as you go to clean your mug, there are stains in the mug that you can’t seem to get rid.

The tannins from tea and coffee tend to leave a coloring that is not as easy to wash off. Here are a few effective ways to remove these unsightly tints in your coffee cups.

Baking Soda

Use Baking Soda To Remove Stains

Grab the baking soda out of the cabinet and pour some baking soda and mix with warm water.

Mix enough baking soda and water to make a paste. Dip a soft sponge in the paste and scrub your coffee mug for a few minutes to remove the stains. The abrasiveness from the baking soda should start to remove those hard to remove stains. And voila, your coffee cup is brand spanking new!

Vinegar with apples

Use Vinegar To Clean Coffee Mug

Fill your stained coffee mug to about 50% mug with boiling water and pour in some vinegar. Let that sit for a few minutes and then start scrubbing with a sponge. After the stains are removed wash the mug as normal.

Denture Tablets To Wash Cups

Pour warm water into the cup and drop a denture tablet inside. Wait as the coffee mug fizzes inside and it will start to get rid of the stains.

Once the fizzing has subsided rinse out the mug and rinse the mug with fresh water. Wipe it out with a sponge and it should be stain free.

Feel free to try out these methods and see what works best for you. I guarantee you that this will have your ceramic mugs looking clean and you won’t have to be embarrassed anymore with coffee cups with stains.
